RENEW YOU
DHARMA TALK - January 9 / 14, 2018 VERONA YOGA STUDIO / I HEART YOGA
So that past week or so, we've had pretty much freezing to below freezing temperatures. The cold air outside just makes us want to stay in the comforts of our warm home. But the short days, long nights and chilly weather can take a toll on our mood and energy levels. Winter blues may be in sight and may have affected us already even without our knowing it. Many of us at some point may fall victim to winter blahs, suffering lower than normal energy levels and even lowered immune systems.
To counter these negative effects, requires additional self care and attention to our energy levels and that I believe what yoga can be most helpful during this time of the year. This is a good time to reboot your yoga practice, reconnect or reset your mind body and spirit. Build strength and flexibility while forming positive new habits in your practice.
So for the next hour, I invite you to evaluate your state of mind and body in each pose or flow. Focus on moving with ease while paying close attention to detail and alignment. Find what feels good. Determine where you need more practice. Build a better relationship with poses that are currently not your best friend. This is the perfect time to build a strong foundation while setting the tone for the challenge ahead.
